About Srikalahasti
Sri Kalahasteeswara Temple is one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalams — the five temples representing the elements — and it stands for Vayu, air. The lamp in the inner sanctum is famously seen to flicker although the chamber has no draught.
The temple is best known for the Rahu-Ketu Sarpa Dosha Nivarana pooja, which draws visitors from well outside Andhra Pradesh. It sits on the bank of the Swarnamukhi river beneath the hills.
